Phish
'Gamehendge' at The Vegas Sphere
Overview
Forty years of cult mythology. 160 megapixels. No pressure.
When legendary jam-band Phish brought their spring 2026 residency to the Las Vegas Sphere, Golden Wolf were tasked with animating Gamehendge across 16,000 by 16,000 pixels of wraparound display, working within Moment Factory's wider show direction.
Gamehendge, Trey Anastasio's cult mythology, developed over years of writing and performing, has sustained a devoted Phish following for nearly four decades. Phish fans are knowledgeable, passionate, and have very particular feelings about this world. So we went straight to the source, mining Trey's lyrics, his characters, his world, and taking his vision to a scale it had never been seen at before.
Hand-drawn, rooted in old-school cartoon traditions and shot through with a trippy, anything-goes energy that felt true to the band's spirit, we navigated the challenge of getting 2D animation to behave on a hemispheric screen - there's a reason most Sphere content is 3D! From the sun-baked plains of the Lizards to the cold corridors of Wilson's Castle, we wanted every frame to feel earned.
Our designs didn't just live on screen; they became official Phish merch, and in the case of a few superfans, a permanent tattoo. For Golden Wolf, this project marks our debut at the Sphere and our most ambitious project in the live music space to date.
